THE WINE BAR AT THE INTERNATIONAL PRESENTS: LOST IN THE F.O.G
A cult South Australian wine festival built around Grenache, fire-cooked food and winter vibes lands in Sydney for the first time this August!
This Winter, Sydney gets a little Lost in the F.O.G
Now in its fifth year, Lost in the F.O.G (Festival of Grenache) has built a serious following in South Australia, the kind of event people plan entire weekends around. Founded by the team at Alkina, the festival was inspired by a simple idea: all eyes on Grenache.
If Pinot Noir has elegance and Shiraz has power, Grenache sits somewhere beautifully in between: lifted, perfumed, savoury and quietly complex, often all at once. Right now, it's one of the most compelling grapes in the country, and the producers pouring at Lost in the F.O.G are a big reason why.
Featuring more than 20 producers and over 100 wines on pour, Lost in the F.O.G is a roaming tasting experience designed to be explored at your own pace. Move freely between winemakers, discover new favourites and hear the stories from behind the bottles.
While Grenache takes centre stage, it’s not the only thing in the glass. Alongside some of Australia’s most exciting expressions of the variety, guests can explore a broader lineup of whites, skin-contact wines and reds. Lost in the F.O.G is a celebration of winter itself: fire-cooked food, soulful wines and lively conversations.
The lineup features established names alongside producers redefining the category, it's a rare opportunity to taste the breadth and evolution of Australian Grenache all in one place.
Lost in the F.O.G spans from former Penfold's winemakers to multi-generational Barossa producers and the new wave reshaping Australian Grenache.
Meet producers like Alex Head, whose Rhône-inspired approach has helped redefine modern Barossa Grenache through old, high-altitude vineyards; Stephen Pannell, widely considered one of Australia's defining Grenache voices; Amelia Nolan of Alkina, working alongside farmed terroir expert Pedro Parra to map vineyards by soil and geology in obsessive detail; and Bernice Ong of Ministry of Clouds, quietly crafting some of McLaren Vale's most finely tuned bush vine Grenache.
Lost in the F.O.G is as much about the people behind the bottle as what's in the glass.
