Evanescent
Discover an iconic Vivid experience at 25 Martin Place.
Atelier Sisu is an award-winning Sydney-based art practice, led by Peruvian sculptor and industrial designer Renzo B. Larriviere and architectural designer and artist Zara Pasfield. The pair work with a multi-disciplinary team to create experiential environments, installations and unique sculptural pieces. Their direction of work sits between the fields of art and architecture (art-chitecture), with particular focus in the realm of public art. The Evanescent Droplets are an immersive art-chitecture. The artwork was inspired during the Covid-19 pandemic, when the world stopped and everything we took for granted started to disappear. Atelier Sisu endeavoured to communicate this feeling of transient beauty, and the need to live in the moment through the idea of the bubble.
The Evanescent Droplets is made up of a series of spheres. These inflatable spheres are made from a diachronic coated PVC, allowing them to split light wavelengths that hit the surface of the spheres and split this into an array of vivid colours. During the hours of darkness, the bauble spheres will come to life with a dynamic and eye catching light display. Internally illuminated and individually pixel mapped, the Droplets will come to life with curated animations.
